NEW ALL WOMEN'S CLASSES in OCT

Just to let you know that we are pleased to be able to offer classes for WOMEN ONLY, starting on the 6th of October.

We are specially opening a new office in Bukit Bintang to cater for these classes.

Hours: 9-2pm
Starting date: 6th October
Duration: 4 weeks
Course Fees: RM300 registration (first month only) + RM1800 per month for the course.

All women students will need to be 15 years or older, and sit a placement test before they start. Government Scholarship students are welcome.

The Opening Party!

We gathered the students together and had a simple ceremony of cutting the ribbon to open the new part of the school. All students and staff were asked to sign an opening banner. Then tea and coffee and snacks were had by all.

Our new reception area with spotlights. We also now have a receptionist/registration officer and an accounts person. A real reception area with sofas!
We have four new classrooms and new tables and chairs plus a new sound system in each of the rooms. Fully carpetted floors in the rooms also. Not to mention a new budding language lab.

Full power IELTS class this August!!

Due to popular demand we are offering a full power IELTS preparation class with a specially trained IELTS teacher from the UK. This class will be for the month of August 2008.

The course will cover all the strategies necessary to complete the IELTS exam.

Starting Date: 4th August
Length: 4 weeks

All participants must take a placement test first to make sure they are at the level necessary to take part in the course.

New BEGINNERS CONVERSATION Classes

As from Monday 7th July we are proud to offer you Beginners Conversation Classes. These are classes that help Beginners English students to practice their simple phrases in everyday situations.

This class is open to anyone who is already registered in a Beginners 1, 2 or 3 class at CRWMC Language Centre, or anyone outside of the Centre who has just completed their Beginners or Elementary 1, 2 and 3 Classes at another institute.

Times: Monday - Friday 5.30-7.30
Cost: RM625 per month
Starting date: Anytime

This is not a course of study, so there will be no certificate or exam at the end of the month

New Computer Courses Starting

Now that we have more classrooms and our IT department is in the new offices, we are now pleased to offer Computer Classes in the weekend.

Classes: Basic Computer skills Course and Programming Course

When: Saturdays 9-1pm

Registration Costs coming in JULY

Up until now CRWMC Language Centre has allowed students to start their courses with a simple payment of RM1000 for the months course.

From 1st of July onwards, due to the renovations in the school and increased staff, the school will now be charging an additional one time registration fee of RM300 for students upon enrolment. This registration fee covers:

- placement test and analysis
- first three months textbooks
- end of month test and analysis
- certificates and reports for each student at the end of each month
- administation costs

The course cost for the month remains at RM1000. Therefore if a student starts a course their initial cost will be RM1300.

This is a one time registration fee, and if the student wishes to continue for further months, the course fee will stay at RM1000 per month plus RM90 for textbooks every three months.

Also from 1st July CRWMC Langauge Centre will not be giving discounts. The course fees will remain RM1000 for every person.

If a student decides to stay for only one week, they must still pay the RM300 registration fee.

OUT and ABOUT in KL with the Pre Intermediates!

The pre Intermediate 1 group had an out and about English lesson today. Here the group went to KLCC and worked through an English topic related to shopping, eating in restaurants and dealing with shop assistants. The group ended their day with a meal at the food court.
In the group were Mohammed (Libya), Ahmed (Libya), Neda (Iran), Saleh (Libya), Yayha (Saudi Arabia), Khaled (Yemen), Abdulgassim (Sudan), Sami (Libya), Hamzah (Saudi Arabia) and of course teacher Anita.

A New Teacher!


Here Teacher Sue is working with Radhwan (Libya). Radhwan is here in Malaysia to work on his English and experience a different cuilture from his homeland. He is in Beginners 1. Already after a month he can make simple conversations to help him in his everyday life. Teacher Sue comes to us with over 25 years experience teaching English in Malaysian schools and Singapore.


She takes the Beginners 1 and 2 classes and Pre Intermediate 2 class.


Another New teacher!

Here Teacher Clare, from England, is working with the Pre Intermediate group. Included in the group are Aboubakre (Libya), Mohammed and Milad (Iran), Maher (Jordon), Ali (Jordon), Ahmed (Somalia), Ebrahim (Yemen), Ibrahim (Sudan) and Ousman (Chad). Here the students are analysing a piece of writing from the New headway Pre Intermediate book. Each class is 3 hours long and covers an integrated approach to Reading, writing, listening, speaking and grammar.

OUT and ABOUT in ENGLISH!!

The Upper Intermediate class decided to practice their English outside of the class in KLCC. The teacher Anita, had a full day's program planned for them.

After they met up at the sky tower ticket office, they began their day with a guided trip to the sky bridge.


In the group are Aisulu (Kazakstan), Bassl (Libya), Emhemed (Libya), Ahmad (Libya), Hatice (Turkey), Dalal (Jordon), Hani (Saudi Arabia), Wafik (Libya), Bandar (Saudi Arabia) and of course the teacher Anita!
After they viewed Kuala Lumpur from the highest tourist point, the sky bridge, they followed by answering a questionnaire (in English of course) about the shopping centre below. They ordered food, asked questions and made comments all in English, and ate out in the KLCC food court! A great time was had by all.

What is your favourite place in Malaysia?

My favourite place in Malaysia is KLCC park because it is a nice place and it makes me feel like I am in the countryside. I like the pray call from the Mosque there. -Wafik (Libya)

The Round Table Discussions

This Pre Intermediate group is preparing for a discussion. Bryan O'Leary from England is giving them feedback on the correct pronunciation of new English Vocabulary, plus giving them some hints on how to organise their argument. Due to the ever increasing classes at the Language Centre, we are now able to proudly show off our new room. This room allows all the students to have a more private classroom setting where listening and speaking can be performed without disrupting other students and classes.
Hopefully this will be just the beginning of our new developments at our slowly expanding school.

New CONVERSATION CLUB Starts Monday 31st March!

CRWMC Language Centre are pleased to announce that they are now offering a CONVERSATION CLUB. This is a one hour coffee and chat session with a native English Speaker from Monday to Wednesday every week. A new topic will be discussed every night. The groups are small and everyone gets a chance to get their point across. Come and join us every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

TIME: 6-7pm.
COST: RM25 for one hour, RM40 for two hours, RM50 for three hours

The Beginners Class

Majd is from Palestine and is here to study English and eventually go to University in Malaysia. Majd started one month ago in the Beginners 1 class. He has progressed very well and is now onto his second month and can have simple conversations with the teacher Aiyshah.
His programme covers reading, writing, grammar and listening as well as simple conversations.

The Tourism Debate

On the right is Wafik (Libya) and he is looking to go to University here after he has completed his IELTS or TOEFL. Next to him is Mohamed (Saudi Arabia) and he is already studying at a University here in Kuala Lumpur, but needs extra English practice to get the best scores he can in his course.
This Upper Intermediate group are doing an activity whereby they have to discuss the best way to put forward an argument on tourism.

A Grammar Lesson

This is a Pre Intermediate class with students from all over the world. Teaching this group is Bryan O'Leary from England. At the moment the class are taking a grammar lesson. With the small classes students are able to ask and answer questions easily with their teacher.

INTENSIVE COURSES


We also offer intensive courses for those eager people who want to get serious about learning English quickly. Hani (Yemen) is one such student who did a 6 hour course rather than a 3 hour course, and managed to complete two months work in one month.
He is in Malaysia for a short time and is very keen to get as much english as possible before he starts his IT course.
The intensive course is an excellent way to learn English but it is really challenging, as you will need to do alot of English work at home as well as at the school.

BEGINNERS HARD AT WORK!

On the left is Mazied (Saudi Arabia). Mazied has been with us 5 weeks and is working hard at his Beginners course. Here his is practicing some English dialogue so he can have a conversation with the other students.


This is Mohammed (Saudi Arabia). Mohammed is here to study English because he has an important job in Saudi Arabia dealing with customers from all over the world. Mohammed completed his Beginners 1 level course and is now able to have simple conversations in English.

On the left here is Abdullah. Abdullah is here to develop his English so that he can study at a university here. At present he is not sure which course he will study. Here he is completing some reading comprehension exercises.

A BLAST FROM THE PAST - 2007!!

Speaking is one of the most important components of the English Courses. Here Abdifatah (Somalia) is putting his point across to his team from left Omer (Sudan), Musse (Somalia) and Fadumo (Somalia). These groups have to present a strong argument to the class in order to change the minds of their opponents. Here the topic was "Is Tourism good or bad for a developing country?".

This is Musse (Somalia) working on his Upper Intermediate Grammar. Musse was with us from June-September and was with us to boost his English course. He is planning to study Business Administration at a college here in Malaysia.

Here is Omer (Sudan). Omer is studying full time at the Saudi School. He is hoping to go to University here when he graduates.

Here he is working on a project in his Advanced Class. Omer and some other students in his group went out into the streets of Kuala Lumpur and conducted a survey on Malaysia in English and are now compiling their information into power point presentation.

Here from the left is Omer (Sudan), Abdicadir (Somalia), Abdifatah (Somalia), Teacher Marc (Canada), Yousif (Sudan), and Fadumo (Somalia).

Teacher Marc was with us for 10 weeks during this period. From there he went travelling and is now teaching in Japan.


Here Abdicadir (Somalia) is working on a project for his Upper Intermediate Level Course. He hopes to study IT at one of the Universities here in Malaysia. Abdicadir is now busy studying for his TOEFL exam to gain entry into one of these Universities.

Certificate time for the Upper Intermediates!

The Upper Intermediate Level group all sat a test at the end of December. The test consists of five main areas, Reading, Essay Writing, Grammar, Listening and Speaking. Here are some of the highest scorers.

Firstly there is Mustafa from Iraq. Mustafa is in Malaysia to study Robotic Engineering at the Islamic University. He will be sitting his EPT exam in a few months time. Well done Mustafa!

Certificate time again!

Also passing the Upper Intermediate Level test is Ehsan from Iran. Ehsan has been in Malaysia for nine months and has been doing everything he can to practice his English, taking sometimes two courses at once and tuition. His hard work has paid off and he is going to sit the IELTS in January. All the best Ehsan!

Certificate Time Again!

After one month's hard work, the students all sat an end of month English assessment test covering Reading, Essay Writing, Grammar, Speaking and Listening at the Upper Intermediate Level.

The test is approximately 2 hours long and challenges all the four disciplines. Everyone passed with flying colours.

On the left is Yassien from Iraq. Yassieen is studying full time at the Islamic University and will be sitting his EPT exam in a few months time. All the best Yassieen!

This happy group worked solidly over the December month to both prepare for the IELTS exam and the EPT exam. From the left is Ehsan from Iran, Teacher Anita, Mustafa from Iraq and Yaseein from Iraq. All three students plan to study for their Bachelors or Masters Degree here in Malaysia.

The Upper Intermediates get working!

This Upper Intermediate group are hard at work on some dictionary skills with Teacher Anita. Ehsan is hoping to sit for his IELTS test in January and Mustafa and Yaseein are taking this time to continue building up their English while their University College has their December holiday.
